I’m feeling very ashamed of my terrible writing habits, especially when compared to Allena Tapia’s $1500 Day Every so often I realize that I’m not making anything of my writing because I have no discipline.

GrayCub is being a hell of an influence tonight. I’m still sipping on that first juice, but she and EtCet have got me shooting vodka too. Blighters.

Also, DriNi rules say no editing. Sorry.

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Indiana Jones and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
The story should use bondage as a plot device!

That’s correct. 2 days of no new word counts. Crap. Gotta get on that tonight. Hmmmm….

Dear Friends, Family, and Righteous Supporters,

As always, the nonprofit Office of Letters and Light will be bringing together the most mighty of endurance novelists for an amazing event spanning the month of November.

This is, of course, National Novel Writing Month. It’s a global writing challenge in which participants spend November (and portions of our sanity!) writing a 50,000-word book in just 30 days.

I am among the participating authors this year. In addition to my creative duties, I’m raising money to help the Office of Letters and Light continue to put on free creative writing programs for kids and adults in classrooms, communities, and libraries around the world.

Every dollar I raise will motivate me as I write my way towards the realization of my creative goals. More importantly, your contribution will help National Novel Writing Month and its Young Writers Program create a more engaged and inspiring world.

In addition to the rewards that OLL is offering, sponsors who contribute $20 or more will receive a .PDF copy of my cleaned first draft and sponsors contributing $50 or more will receive a spiral-bound, autographed, annotated manuscript.

Thank you so much for your support of my writing and more, for supporting the education of the cretive minds of the future!

With Love,

RebaE

I like to think
(right now, please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.

Nothing like discovering lovely modern poetry while shopping. (I’d like the “Strength from the Bohemian Gothic Tarot” bag, please.>

Sixty years I’ve lived, hardly a cross word said!
(The carpenter found, behind their bed,
a crawl-space where black snakes had bred.)

Each of the Ten Commandments, I kept.
(Broom jabbing, she frantically swept
at filth that flowered while she slept.)

No one can ever say I told lies.
(She faded below her cracking disguise,
fixed as a dead-leaf butterfly’s.)

I gave my love to each and all.
(Hoarded in a locked closet down the hall
hatreds muffled by a paisley shawl.)

I never let myself complain.
(Gallons of tears, a wet winter’s rain,
whirled at the brim of the churning drain.)

I had the life I wanted to have.
(She stepped unborn into her grave.)

New Features!

Faithful Readers, please check out the top of the screen. You will notice two new menu options: “Poetry” and “Stories.” I’ll give you three guesses what you will find if you click those links!

The first two do not count.

It isn’t much for now. The Poetry page is active, and the Story page will be active be the end of this week. One new poem and story for you to enjoy each month. Perhaps if I start making money here, there will be more to read more often. Who knows?

Oh! It’s the 14th! I’ve submitted a total of eight poems to two different publications today, so wish me luck. The first batch went to Poetry Revolt, a new publication for non-traditional poems. The second batch went to The Copper Nickel, UCDHSC’s really fabulous literary journal. I recommend stopping and checking them out and buying the latest issue if you have a chance.

Authorial Websites

I’m preparing my new website, and I find myself wondering what to put on it. The websites of other authors and poets are all so different from one another, I’m at a bit of a loss for which parts to poach. Here are a list of a few sites I’ve scoped. Any suggestions? Things you like? Things you hate?
