”Has she stopped yet? Is it time?”
“Well … she’s still talking, but at least in her version of the story you exist now. At least, I THINK it’s you. Do you, by any chance, have a very hairy brother?”
/moan “Ooh, no. She isn’t talking about that is she? So mich for my dignified, heroic entrance.”
“Well, it could be worse. At this rate I’m going to come out looking like a baddy and Mischa will be a side-show act!”

Well, maybe is someone thought what I’m doing was worthwhile I’d be a little more dedicated.

NaDriWriNi: Urghle Splutz

So here is what I learned last weekend:
Do not let GrayCub mix the drinks. Do not mix phych meds with alcohol. When you’ve decided you’ve had enough, say so in a firm, loud voice and go immediately to sleep. Do not drink because a pretty girl wiggles at you and says please, or because some anonymous figure on the other end of an IM says so, or ever include alcohol in kinky anything.

I’m not posting the rest of what I wrote, because it alternates between the slightly gory birthing scene that you may or may not make out from my last post, and a bleary commentary on the drunken goings on of myself, GrayCub, and Mr. Silver. Hmmm, and a bit of weird speculation the faceless-bad-influence, Etcet.

The end result? The worst hangover of my entire life, the realization that my bad blood could easily make me an genuine alchie, several hours of blackness in my memory, bruises and floor burn, a big block of stuff I deleted from my NanoWriMo word count. Also, the painfully sober Mr. Silver says that Gray and I can be mean drunks. He was mad. He may still be mad. *shiver* Oh, and there were clothing casualties. I’m still not sure where my bra went.

Maybe, if you DONATE $100 or more, I’ll give you the transcript of the night.

Well there’s a start.

GrayCub is being a hell of an influence tonight. I’m still sipping on that first juice, but she and EtCet have got me shooting vodka too. Blighters.

Also, DriNi rules say no editing. Sorry.

Well there’s a start.- continue reading

Howdy. Tonight, I’m told is NaDruWriNi. I’m having cranberry juice & vodka, and it is delish. I’ll post a word count before I pass out. Maybe.

Nano: The Situation Is Not Yet This Dire

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Indiana Jones and Bill Nye the Science Guy.
The story should use bondage as a plot device!

I hate hear my tech guy tell me I need a better backup system. Thanks again for saving my butt, though, Mr. Silver! The process of finding my outline sucked quite a lot and I feel like I’ve been through the ringer.

So, what am I doing to recharge and recoup? Manually fixing the blog’s tags and categories. Yeeeeeah. Productive. Next I’m going to alphabetize the silverware and then I might rewash all of my roomie’s laundry. Just to kill time. LOL

So, the eminent Mr. Silver claims that he has technological wonders that might be able to help me rescue my NaNo outline, and that would be great. In the meantime, I am chronicling the wanderings of Mrs. Naughty McMeanie-Pants. I wrote all of the preface up to the point where The King comes home and gets murdered and The Prince is cursed. Now, having fled the scene of the crime, Mrs. Naughty knows that her days are numbered and is searching for a restful place to wait for who ever takes it into his/her head to come for her.

All the while my so-called Main Characters are still off-stage waiting for the drama queen to get through her narrative. I can almost hear them.

“Is she wrapping up yet?”
“Not that I can tell, but the flashbacks have stopped.”
“Well, that’s probably a good sign.”
“Maybe”
*sigh* “Wake me when it’s my turn.”

Poor things. This is what happened and stalled me out last year, though, so I’m just letting it happen. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up with a nifty novel entirely from the McMeanie-Pants point-of-view. There are worse things.

With the smallest of keystrokes, I think I just deleted my outline for the novel and now I can’t find it. I’m going to scream. That is all.

Dear Friends, Family, and Righteous Supporters,

As always, the nonprofit Office of Letters and Light will be bringing together the most mighty of endurance novelists for an amazing event spanning the month of November.

This is, of course, National Novel Writing Month. It’s a global writing challenge in which participants spend November (and portions of our sanity!) writing a 50,000-word book in just 30 days.

I am among the participating authors this year. In addition to my creative duties, I’m raising money to help the Office of Letters and Light continue to put on free creative writing programs for kids and adults in classrooms, communities, and libraries around the world.

Every dollar I raise will motivate me as I write my way towards the realization of my creative goals. More importantly, your contribution will help National Novel Writing Month and its Young Writers Program create a more engaged and inspiring world.

In addition to the rewards that OLL is offering, sponsors who contribute $20 or more will receive a .PDF copy of my cleaned first draft and sponsors contributing $50 or more will receive a spiral-bound, autographed, annotated manuscript.

Thank you so much for your support of my writing and more, for supporting the education of the cretive minds of the future!

With Love,

RebaE
